Beacon of Hope Crisis Center is always looking to add new individuals and families to our amazing team of Foster Pet Caregivers. We are looking for fosters that can provide a temporary, loving home for the pets of domestic and sexual violence victims. Foster Pet Caregivers will take care of pets in need for up to 90 days while the victim works on securing safe housing and becoming self-sufficient. When the victim is safe, they will be reunited with their beloved pets. Because of our volunteer Foster Pet Caregivers, victims in Central Indiana now have an option to flee their abusive relationships while keeping themselves and their pets safe.
All pet victims come into the program spayed, neutered, up to date on all vaccines, and micro-chipped. The Director of Primary Prevention conducts a home visit and goes through all the necessary paperwork with every foster family. The application to become a Foster Pet Caregiver can be found below. If you would like to speak with the Director of Primary Prevention regarding this volunteer opportunity, please call our admin line at (317)731-6131 or contact us here.
