Sandra Ziebold | Chief Executive Officer | Non-Voting Board Member Beacon of Hope Crisis Center
Sandy has served as Chief Executive Officer of Beacon of Hope Crisis Center domestic violence and sexual assault services agency since January 2016. Previously, she was a member of the board of directors for four years. She additionally has 20+ years of marketing, design, and business leadership experience. Sandy is known as a creative solution-driven executive. She is a leader on many topics related to both the for-profit and non-profit sectors. She has been interviewed and quoted in the media heavily, influenced positive changes to the law, and is an expert witness. Her expert witness testimony has positively impacted lives. Her opinion is requested for expert advisory consultation. She is an expert in matters pertaining to domestic violence, pet abuse, and strangulation. She is a member of the Indiana Traumatic Brain Injury State Advisory & Stakeholder Board and is a supportive member of the Indiana Coalition Against Domestic Violence, Indiana Arts Commission, Central Indiana Police Foundation, and the National Link Coalition.
Lindsey Carver| Board Chair Health Resources in Action
Lindsey grew up in New Hampshire and relocated to Indiana in 2020. She has a master’s degree in justice studies from the University of New Hampshire and has spent over 10 years working in philanthropy on behalf of funders. Since 2017, Lindsey has worked as a Senior Grants Officer at Health Resources in Action (HRiA), a nonprofit consultancy based in Boston, Massachusetts. Prior to joining HRiA, Lindsey was a grants manager for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, administering federally funded programs to improve public safety and public health across the state. She worked for the Massachusetts Office for Victim Assistance where she managed Victims of Crime Act (VOCA) grants as well as the Executive Office of Public Safety and Security where she managed grant programs on behalf of the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. Lindsey also served as a crisis line volunteer for a domestic violence crisis center in New Hampshire. Lindsey lives in Indianapolis with her son and enjoys serving her church family at Traders Point Christian Church.
Carol Whiteman| Board Vice-Chair AHEPA Senior Living
Carol is a native Hoosier and was born and raised in Shelbyville, IN. She currently serves as VP of HR & Training at AHEPA Senior Living. She graduated high school from Suburban Baptist High School in Greenwood, IN. She received her Bachelor of Science degree in criminal justice from Purdue University. She currently resides on the southside of Indianapolis with her husband John. They have two toddler grandchildren that keep them very busy on the weekends! Carol has spent over twenty years in human resources and currently works in a nonprofit that helps over 5,500 low-income seniors in 19 states with affordable housing. Mission-driven organizations with the purpose of helping others are definitely her passion!
Olivia is a lifelong Hoosier, residing on the south side of Indianapolis. Olivia attended Indiana University-Purdue University Indianapolis, where she obtained a bachelor's degree in psychology and minors in criminal justice and Latino studies. She went on to attend Robert H. McKinney School of Law, where she graduated summa cum laude. While in law school, Olivia wrote her student Note, titled: “Ready to Bridge the Disconnect: Implementing England and Wales’ Coercive Control Model for Criminalizing Domestic Abuse in the United States.” Her Note was an in-depth comparative analysis of the models for criminalizing domestic violence in the United States versus England and Wales. Her Note won the Best Student Note Award and was published in the Indiana International & Comparative Law Review, Vol. XXX.
Olivia and her husband are the proud parents of three large dogs. In her free time, Olivia enjoys reading, playing board games, and spending time with her family.
Gabe Klinker | Board Member Old Town Companies, 15M Collective
Gabriel is a native Hoosier and a transracial adoptee who brings a unique perspective to every endeavor he undertakes. Grounded in the belief that our shared experiences and the interconnectedness of people enrich our communities, Gabriel approaches life and work with deep empathy and an understanding that, although we are all unique, we are united in our journey.
Gabriel's favorite quote, "People live two lives: the first and then the second when they realize they only live once," reflects his philosophy of seizing life passionately and purposefully. This outlook drives his professional interests in startups, venture capital, and Commercial Real Estate focusing on Affordable Housing. Through his work, he aims to create opportunities that enhance community living and support inclusive development.
Gabriel resides in Zionsville and has a Bernedoodle, Tinsley.
Kristen Garvey | Board Member Veterans Health Indiana
Kristen is the Chief Nurse of Mental Health at a local Indianapolis medical center. She received her Master’s in Nursing Leadership and Management from Western Governors University and her Bachelor’s in Nursing from Ball State University. Kristen started her nursing career in 2010 as an Emergency Department nurse, but eleven years in grew to love the work in Mental Health. Kristen has a passion for helping others, whether at work, home, or serving as a first responder within her church, Traders Point Christian Church.
Kristen is a single mother, residing in Brownsburg, Indiana with her daughter and fur-child. They spend most of their weekends at the softball diamonds.

Lun Kham Pieper | Advisory Board Member Chin Community of Indiana Board of Management, United Nations
Lun is a leader in the Chin Community. She works at the United Nations, focusing on justice and accountability mechanisms and investigating serious international crimes committed in Myanmar. She has worked as a staff Attorney for the Race & Gender Fairness Commission and Language Advisory Committee Task Force for the Indiana Office of Court Services at the Indiana Supreme Court. She also handled the Court Interpreter Certification Program for the Court. Prior to this, Lun practiced law in the areas of immigration and criminal law, and later worked as a Deputy Prosecutor and Director of Burmese Outreach at Marion County Prosecutor’s Office. Lun obtained her bachelor of science degree from the Kelley School of Business at Indiana University and her Juris Doctorate degree from Indiana University Robert McKinney School of Law. Lun speaks English, Burmese and Tedim Chin.
Linda Karressy | Advisory Board Member Insight Financial Group
Linda is the Founder of Insight Financial Group along with Insight Business Academy. Insight Financial Group provides accounting services to organizations who want their books in order so that they can be loan, grant, and investor ready. Insight Financial Group teaches business courses such as budgeting, understanding financial statements, and Quickbooks 101 to small businesses and nonprofits.
Linda earned her Bachelor’s degree in accounting from Indiana University-Bloomington and a Masters in Public Affairs in nonprofit management from the IUPUI's School of Public Affairs. While at Indiana University, Linda participated in an exchange program with the University of Maastricht, Limburg, The Netherlands. She was able to travel extensively throughout Europe and meet individuals from Sweden, Germany, and Italy. Previously Linda worked for Fortune 500 companies such as Cardinal Health and Raytheon in a variety of accounting roles. Linda has experience in financial analysis, reconciliations, and budgeting.
Linda has written articles for Inside Indiana Business, Black Girls Venture, and Medium Magazine. Linda is co-founder of Sister Alliance a support group for Black women entrepreneurs in Indiana. Linda’s motto is “Keeping Accounting Simple.”
Barry Foster | Advisory Board Member Retired - Veterinary Mentor - Former Owner of Eagle Creek Veterinary Clinic
Barry grew up in Elkhart, IN, graduating from Elkhart Memorial High School. He attended Purdue University, graduating as a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine. Dr. Foster worked at the Eagle Creek Animal Clinic since 1991 and was the owner from 2000 to 2020. Dr. Foster and his wife, Julie, and 2 daughters Elizabeth and Evelyn, lived in the Broad Ripple area for many years. He enjoys fishing, hiking, biking, pickleball, volleyball, and walking his Standard Poodles, River & Pearl. He also enjoys reading, movies, sports, and games. Dr. Foster has been very active in his church, teaching/leading adult and children’s Sunday school, Leading Men’s Ministry, and leading within church committees.
Jackie Bowman Ponder | Advisory Board Member & Spokesperson Bowman Family Holdings, Inc.
Jackie grew up in Greenwood, Indiana, attending Center Grove High School. She graduated in 1986 from Southern Methodist University in Dallas, Texas cum laude with a BA degree in Political Science and Russia Area Studies. In 1989, she graduated from Indiana University School of Law summa cum laude. Jackie served as a law clerk for Indiana Chief Justice Randall Shepard while in law school and for the Hon. Tom Stagg, U.S. District Court, W.D. Louisiana, from 1990-1992. She practiced law in Indianapolis for 25 years in the field of complex commercial litigation before joining Solar Sources Mining, LLC as its General Counsel. In 2017, she became Vice-President of Legal for White Stallion Energy, LLC and Chief Legal Officer for Bowman Family Holdings, Inc. In 2020, Jackie received an MBA from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business, with honors.
Jackie and her husband, John Cangany, have six children - Jeff Bowman, Drew, Elena and Lilly Ponder and Peyton and Jasmine Cangany. She actively served as a member of Community Church of Greenwood for many years and now attends Community Church at Stones Crossing in Greenwood. Jackie was one of the founding board members for the Center Grove Education Foundation providing grants which fund programs not covered by the traditional school budgets. In 2002, Jackie was appointed as a member of the Board of Trustees of the Center Grove Community School Corporation and was elected for a full-term in 2004. She has served as a member of the Executive Committee of the Energy & Mineral Law Foundation since 2018.
Melissa Breeden | Advisory Board Member Realty Income Corporation
Melissa focuses her practice on real estate, finance and corporate law. She is Associate Vice President Senior Legal Counsel for Realty Income Corporation. Previously she was of Counsel at Dickinson Wright PLLC. Melissa has experience representing companies in complex, sophisticated multi-million and multi-billion dollar financings of retail, office, hotel, mixed use and solar projects in the United States, including CMBS, life insurance, balance sheet, construction and public financing loans such as PACE. She also assists clients with structuring, drafting and negotiating complex joint venture agreements, contribution agreements, merger documents, leases, ground leases, reciprocal easements and documents for the purchase and sale of partnership interests and the acquisition and disposition of various forms of commercial real estate.
Melissa is admitted in Indiana and Arizona. She is a member of the International Council of Shopping Centers, the Indiana State Bar Association, and the Indianapolis Bar Association. She is an Advisory Board Member of Beacon of Hope. Melissa received her B.A. from Ball State University and her J.D. from Valparaiso University School of Law.
Ladarius Johnson | Advisory Board Member The Harris Center for Mental Health
Ladarius is a native of Tyler, Texas, who blossomed through his formative years in the vibrant community of Groveton. He currently coordinates mobile crisis outreach at The Harris Center for Mental Health. After graduating from Groveton Texas High School, he embarked on an educational journey at The University of Texas at Tyler, where he obtained a Bachelor's degree in Psychology and later pursued his passion for finance by achieving a Master's in Business Administration. With a rich background in both the medical field and social work, Ladarius has garnered extensive experience over the years. Moreover, he has embraced the role of an investor, contributing to the growth of promising ventures. Alongside his beloved wife, he proudly calls Houston his home, where they have established deep roots. In his leisure time, Ladarius finds solace and joy in various pursuits. He engages in spirited basketball matches, dedicates himself to rigorous workouts, and gracefully cruises around on his electric scooter. Notably, he derives great fulfillment from delivering compelling public speeches, using his voice to advocate passionately for the welfare of foster youth.
Judy Pippin | Advisory Board Member Kopka Pinkus Dolin, P.C.
Judy Pippin is a native Hoosier originally from Muncie, Indiana. She is a Senior Attorney at Kopka Pinkus Dolin Attorneys At Law. Judy is a graduate of Ball State University and the Robert H. McKinney School of Law at Indiana University. Judy is licensed to practice law in Indiana, including the U.S. District Courts for the Northern and Southern Districts of Indiana, and she is a member of the Indiana State Bar Association, and the Indianapolis Bar Association. Judy’s law practice focuses on the defense of worker’s compensation and employment related issues. She currently serves as a volunteer with the Neighborhood Christian Legal Clinic and other community service groups. Judy attends Grace Church in Noblesville where she also volunteers in the Care Center.
Judy’s two sons are both soccer players and when she is not watching them play, she enjoys biking. Judy is committed to assist Beacon of Hope Crisis Center fulfill its mission.
