Sandy first approached Beacon of Hope Crisis Center with a creative art therapy concept for children of domestic violence families in 2011. The Foster Pet Program resonated with her very deeply, knowing first hand that pets are often harmed by abusers to control others in domestic violence situations. She then joined the organization’s Board of Directors. She became Co-Chair of the Board in 2013, and was appointed as CEO in January of 2016.
