Recurring Giving Campaign

QUICK ESCAPE
Ending domestic violence and sexual assault victimization starts by supporting essential advocacy services.

How Your Gifts Go Further

Financial assistance helps victims, and we go a step further to help survivors become employed, self-sufficient, and independent. COVID-19 has increased stress and financial barriers to getting safe. Local shelters are regularly overwhelmed with the incoming needs and we are taking on the extra weight. We regularly assist victims in shelter with finding employment, long-term housing, and childcare. We are also connecting with clients through our confidential crisis line and community partners. Everyday, we are assisting victims across Central Indiana with a variety of free services. We empower survivors to break free and start a life free from the grip of domestic violence and/or sexual assault.

Please will you consider joining our recurring giving campaign to help us expand to reach more victims and families?
Thank you to our donors working to end domestic violence and sexual assault.

When we come together, we can break the cycle of violence.

  • When a victim flees a violent home, they have an opportunity to start over. However, this is not an easy journey which is why victim advocates reach out to offer emotional support and free resources.
  • When a victim feels safe, they can speak openly about their feelings and experiences. Some victims get shut down when trying to disclose abuse. We are here to listen to victims, validate their feelings, and let them know abuse is never the victim's fault.
  • When a victim engages in counseling, they start to rebuild their self-confidence. They will also grow as they become familiar with their triggers, learn coping mechanisms, and take on new challenges.
  • When we help a victim of domestic violence gain employment and financial wellness education, they can become independent. This is often the first step to obtaining safe long-term housing for victims and their families.
  • When a victim is safe, they can focus on planning for their future and taking control of their life.

Improve your community and find joy in helping others.

We've established how your financial gift will help victims and now we want to show you how giving will benefit the donor too. Research has continued to find a connection between generosity and positive responses within our mind and bodies. When you join our recurring giving campaign you continue to reap the rewards of giving back. Sign up for our newsletter to stay informed about how your gift is helping survivors.
  • Neuroscience has demonstrated that giving is a powerful pathway for creating more personal joy and improving overall health. (Psychology Today)
  • Kindness has been shown to increase self-esteem, empathy and compassion, and improve mood. It can decrease blood pressure and cortisol, a stress hormone, which directly impacts stress levels. (Mayo Clinic)
  • Biologically, giving can create a “warm glow,” activating regions in the brain associated with pleasure, connection with other people and trust. (Cleveland Clinic)
